Full Moon Journaling: What to Write
Under Tonight's Sturgeon Moon
The moon's doing something it won't do again for years.
I almost missed that tonight's moon is doing something unusual — someone mentioned an eclipse in passing and I had to actually look it up to believe it. Turns out the moon's dragging itself through most of Earth's shadow tonight, deep enough that it can go coppery-red for a while. No telescope needed. Just step outside and actually look up instead of finding a video of it tomorrow.
I'm not going to pretend I buy into the "full moon means release and manifestation" thing — that's never been my language. But a night like this is a decent excuse to actually sit with a few honest questions instead of just scrolling past the moon in a friend's story.
So, if you're doing anything tonight, maybe this instead:
What have I been carrying that's been outstaying its welcome?
What did this month ask of me that caught me off guard — and did I handle it anyway?
What's one thing I did just for me this month that literally no one clocked?
Pick whichever one makes you pause a beat too long before answering. That's usually the real one.
Going outside for a minute tonight either way. Eclipse like this doesn't come back around for years, and neither does whoever I am right now.
